Green light for new Metro Line 7 in Santiago following approval of Environmental Impact Study
An important milestone in the progress of the Santiago Metro Line 7 project took place this afternoon at the Intendency of the Metropolitan Region, after the Environmental Evaluation Commission – body in charge of deciding on the environmental qualification of projects or activities submitted to the Environmental Impact Assessment System (SEIA) - approved the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) of the initiative. This complex process was advised by the Cubillos Evans team.
Work on this important urban transportation infrastructure project will begin at the end of 2021 and will last 6 years. Its route will be 26 km long, and it is estimated that it will benefit 1.3 million inhabitants from seven Santiago municipalities.
The new metro line will have 19 stations and will run through Renca, Cerro Navia, Quinta Normal, Santiago, Providencia, Vitacura and Las Condes counties.
Line 7 will start at Brasil station, in Renca, and will extend to Estoril station, in Las Condes, with a total travel time of 43 minutes between both terminal stations.
